To Whom It May Concern:
I write on behalf of Nancy Hulse of Womynkind Productions. Nancy performed her piece "That Ain’t No Way to Treat a Lady" a couple years ago at Franklin Pierce University. Working with Nancy in preparation for this production was delightful; communication and implementation, smooth and easy. Nancy brings most of her own set and props and required very little from us except a decent venue and a commitment to promote the event to the best of our ability.
The multi-media content and performance were stunning. Nancy was adept at switching scenes, stories and characters. In many scripts she drew on the audience to participate, particularly men. While at times the scenes were a bit more than uncomfortable for the volunteer, she was gentle and caring, yet with a laser focus on the message being conveyed. She has an uncanny ability to balance the just and outright rage and consternation over violence against women with a clear path to assisting the audience to find the power to say no, to stand up and to act.
The subject matter of Nancy’s scripts is not meant to be entertaining but to provoke deep, emotional, visceral response from audience engagement, and the audience was fully engaged. Her productions strive above all to help bring an end to the personal and systemic patterns of thinking and behavior that continue to perpetuate verbal, non-verbal, physical, emotional, sexual and spiritual abuse and violence against women.
To that end I highly recommend Nancy and Womynkind Productions to any college or university seeking to provide such a full and wholesome personal and educational experience for students, faculty and staff.
